Yes John the northern lights are truely something to behold and the further north one goes the brighter they get. Travel another 300 miles north and they are bright enough to read a news paper by, sadly they don't seem to have the colors that they did when I was a child as now it's mostly greens and blues, the reddesh and purple hues seem to be gone, sad really.
I missed these almost, lovely pics, and I like john left a comment on the previous pics, just me oohing and aahing over the babies though....
Cheers Silverfish. I have seen the northern lights a couple of times in this country. I saw them in Wales back in the 80s and they were a green colour and I saw them again in the mid 90s here in Devon and those were of a red colour. It is interesting that you say don't have the colours that they used to, I wonder what could have changed in that time? I can only think of air pollution but I'm not sure this would make any difference.
